This is becoming a catastrophe...

I am who I am, and I am nothing more.
The life and thoughts of a music obsessed, nerdy teenager who should have lived during the 1950's.

The new LNK website, webstore and collection have officially launched!
A little over 2 years ago, Liner Note Kids began as a shirt I made to wear to a concert.
And look where we are now. LNK shirts are being worn with pride by liner note kids all over the world. Somehow this hope and dream has turned into a proper brand, and it’s all thanks to you.
LNK 2.0 is the first proper screenprint collection and I’m so proud of it. The shirts somehow manage to celebrate my love for all things retro, music and typography all at once and I can’t get enough of them. I hope you feel the same! you can check out all the new designs in the webstore here.
Please keep in mind that the webstore is in USD and as such, prices will change as the NZD-USD exchange rate does. I realise that the USD is in a pretty bad state at the moment, but don’t worry cos LNK is having a RELAUNCH SALE! For the next 2 weeks you can get 10% off everything when you use the discount code LNKRELAUNCH :) My gift to you for supporting me and sticking by me all these years.
Please also keep in mind that the last time i coded a website from scratch was 2008… so if you find anything wrong with it, please let me know so I can try get it sorted :)
That said, I’m keen to know what you think of the site, the webstore, the new collection, everything!?

I am so damn proud of Charli and how far she has managed to come these past few years. She is an amazingly talented artist, designer, photographer and an all-round wonderful person (plus a million other things that I haven’t yet described) and she deserves this more than anyone I know. I still remember the first time I bought an LNK shirt (or rather shirts) and how unbelievably excited and proud I was to wear it whenever I could (seriously, every free dress day at school was LNK day for me).
You can also consider this as me urging each and every one of you to check out her new collection because, even though I’m probably biased, it’s incredible, unique and suits every single possible style or trend you could imagine.

The Ballad of Mona Lisa (Official MV) - Panic! at the Disco

Absolutely loving the Steampunk/Gothic/Victorian feel of this video.

I may have been a little bored. In all honesty, I don’t even know.

I have a lot of hope for the ‘Bren-cer’ side [which is remaining as Panic!] of the recently halved Panic at the Disco. This is a new demo from the new [and dare I say? Better] Panic! who I am definitely looking forward to hearing new tracks from. According to Pete Wentz, the new Panic! is sounding a lot more like their work on A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out.

*insert my dramatic, but expected sigh of relief and newfound love here*
As you can probably tell, I was a HUGE fan of Fever and not Pretty.Odd. It’s not that I hate Pretty.Odd. per se, I just wasn’t as proud of their efforts on it. If I were ever going to use a band as an example of ‘sell outs’ with the definition being an artist who changes their entire image/sound from previous work, Panic at the Disco would be the band I would choose. This probably sounds really harsh and unfair in the fact that ‘they were only trying to grow musically’ [or so they say] but this is my blog and this is how I feel.
I still remember the first time I listened to Pretty.Odd. It was during a bad patch with a group of friends who I [and of course my best friend] decided to stop hanging out with for a while. Totally irrelevant, so anyway, of course I wasn’t skeptical in any way for the first two tracks [considering one was an intro and the other was they already very popular ‘Nine In The Afternoon] but after hearing at least half of the record my initial reaction was ‘WHAT THE HELL IS THIS RUBBISH?’ and until hearing Northern Downpour I thought maybe Nine In The Afternoon was going to be the only bearable track on this album.
Maybe my expectations were too high thanks to the amount of time we were forced to wait between records, maybe I was too ignorant of originality or ‘classic’ music and too wrapped up in present-day music and one very particularly set genre to appreciate it. Whatever it was, it took me a long time to begin to actually just tolerate Pretty.Odd.

Obviously now I’m a pretty big fan of that album although it’s still yet to live up to the expectations A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out left me with all those years ago. To be honest, I doubt it ever will. This is why I’m so optimistic in the hope that ‘Bren-cer’ will live up to these expectations with their new material. So far, so good. If you’re not following me on twitter or haven’t heard my ranting you may not be aware of that fact that I hate Ryan Ross. This is not a recent decision or discovery, it’s something I’ve felt for quite a while. I don’t feel this needs an explanation so I’ll leave it at that. Though I will say this: Ryan, listening to your monotone on Behind The Sea is not enjoyable. Please leave the singing to your much more vocally talented bandmate Brendon. I will also say this: If Ryan decides to go solo and leave Jon Walker wherever it is he is right now or even if he becomes the lead singer of what they may or may not be working on together; I do not plan on wasting my time or money on his future work.

Wow, this is a little more catty and full-on than I intended but I’m sure there are other Panic fans who feel the same in at least one aspect of my ranting. To lighten up the mood, this is a snippet of the demo for ‘Oh Glory’ by [the newly more talented] Panic! At The Disco. If you’re looking to download it, you can get it here I think this was first posted by Pete Wentz? Not quite sure on that or who ripped it from his blog but I’ll say a personal thanks to Georgia for telling me where to find it on the OCK boards. I love her :)
